Profile:
The mission of the MRC within the Escambia County Health Department is to engage health care professionals in helping the community prepare for, respond to, and mitigate emergencies, disasters, and pressing public health needs by providing a group of readily trained and available volunteer professionals who supplement and assist local medical emergency response systems. The MRC has more than 200 active medical and nonmedical professionals who have acted on a desire to volunteer their time and expertise during emergencies. The MRC has promoted its mission, established its policies, procedures, and protocols regarding operations and conducted recruiting initiatives within the medical community and the community at large.
