The City of Bethlehem MRC unit was established in October of 2006 and serves the population of the city of Bethlehem. The MRC program is supported through the Bethlehem Health Bureau and falls under the direction of the Board of Health and The Bethlehem Health Bureau, who provides leadership and creates direct linkages to important community partners in the governmental, military, volunteer, faith-based, business, education, health, public safety, and emergency response sectors. This collaborative effort has resulted in a comprehensive planning efforts, training resources, outreach and community education initiatives, and lends itself to general medical and mental health surge capacity. The City of Bethlehem MRC unit is new in its overall formation and structure but is actively seeking volunteers to build a strong volunteer base to respond to public health emergencies. More than 500 volunteers are needed to respond to a full scale public health emergency affecting our cities population of 73,000 people. Please be a hero at home and volunteer!
