Profile:
We have a couple of focus areas for our activities as noted below. We are interested in hearing from individuals interested in joining our MRC unit. As we get our program developed, our members will be given the opportunity for training in Incident Command Training, NIMS training, CPR, First Aid,etc. All Volunteers will be required to complete ICS 100a and 700a training, MRC Core Competency Training and MRC101 training as well as Orientation. There are various free trainings that will provide CME, CNE and CEU credits via MRC-TRAIN. While our volunteers will have varying interests and levels of involvement, we look forward to making it a rewarding experience for all involved. As we develop this MRC unit, volunteers will be an important part of the Local healthcare community in responding as surge support staff in emergency as well as non-emergency times. Anyone interested in finding out more about being involved can contact the coordinator. We are focusing on two areas: 1. Providing staffing assistance at Special Needs Shelters during a disaster. 2. Providing staffing assistance at flu shot clinics as part of training to be able to assist in vaccine or prophylaxis distribution during a pandemic.
