The Texarkana/ Miller County Medical Reserve Corps is part of a network of Medical Reserve Corps in Arkansas, housed through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Area Health Education Centers. The goal is to support the local medical community in case of emergency disasters in the form of triage (surge capacity) and support of special needs shelters. The Texarkana MRC works directly with the Texarkana Office of Emergency Management, AR Dept. of Health-Miller County Health Unit, Bowie County Health Department, Red Cross, and other regional resources to develop a coordinated response to a disaster.
