Profile:
We received our National Registration on September 6, 2005. Our unit came under the direction of Mesa County Health Department in July of 2006. Most members have completed the NIMS courses IS-700, IS-100, and IS-200 (or a variation such as IS-100HC, IS-200HC). Additional training opportunities are offered to all MRC registered members as well - medical surge seminars, table top exercises, among others. The state volunteer database has been updated and renamed the Colorado Volunteer Mobilizer -- Mesa County MRC members are registered within this system. We continue to be involved in several trainings and opportunities throughout the year that include testing pandemic preparedness plans for our community to establish a collaboration with other emergency response units, local hospitals, and the local public health system.
