Shelby county's MRC was started 9/26/2004. We became a nationally registered unit 3/2005. As of 1/21/2010 we have 52 members. Our Corps meeets quarterly for training / informational type meetings. We are continuing to train our volunteers in NIMS. Our volunteers will be helping with our Special needs Shelter in Shelby County in the event of any type of emergency. September is Emergency Preparedness Month and we hope to recruit more volunteers at that time. We have a very active core group of volunteers within our MRC that have dedicated many hours to Prevent, Promote and Protect the health of our community!

Since December of 2009 Our activities have been focused on H1N1 vaccination response.

H1N1 Vaccines were now given at the Sidney Shelby County Health Department and the MRC Volunteers again pitched in and assisted in three more sucessful H1N1 clinics.

Last General Public Clinic given at Sidney Middle School MRC volunteers assisted in H1N1 mass vaccination response at Targeted Group POD. Over 200 vaccines were given.

Beginning on December 1st and ending on December 15. Several Volunteers assisted School Nurses in H1N1 vaccine clinics at Shelby county and Sidney City Schools.
