The Clark County MRC was started in April of 2004. We are an individual unit but we have a collaboration with 7 other counties in our West Central Ohio Region that has been established since April 2004. The MRC coordinators from all 8 counties meet every two months to develop trainings and coordinate activities that will benefit all of our units. We offer trainings every three months with the opportunity to volunteer in various health department clinics, community/school education projects and community health fairs to provide screenings and education. There is always an opportunity to volunteer for some community project or to attend a new and exciting class in disaster preparedness. Our volunteers have the opportunity to assist with mass school screenings like vision and hearing and obesity screenings;provide health screenings and education at various health fairs throughout the county and participate in our yearly flu PODs as well as take part in health department and county-wide disaster exercises.

Volunteers have been assisting public health with vision and hearing screenings in the city and county schools. This is an on-going activity from now until October 22, 2010.

Particpate in a county-wide disaster exercise that will simulate a fighter jet from the Ohio Air Guard crashing into the local college.
