| Profile: |
The MRC, led by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, is working to recruit and train medical professionals to be better prepared in a disaster or public health emergency. This is a collaborative effort involving the Regional Medical Response System, area hospitals, the University of Toledo, various local medical professional societies--including the Academy of Medicine of Toledo and Lucas County--and local agencies such as the American Red Cross and the United Way. Volunteers can register for the MRC through a Statewide database at www.serveohio.org.
