Profile:
The Lorain County Medical Reserve Corps was created to aid Lorain County before, during, and after an emergency. It is a collaborative effort among the Elyria City Health District, Lorain City Health Department, and Lorain County General Health District. Coordinated through the Lorain County General Health District, the Lorain County MRC is comprised of licensed health and medical professionals, including nurses, nurse practitioners, veterinarians, pharmacists, doctors, chiropractors, physician assistants, dentists, and others, that will assist the three local health departments during a disaster. Non-medical volunteers are also needed to assist with preparedness measures and emergencies. The Lorain County MRC's purpose is to assist and support local communities in preventing, protecting against, responding to, and recovering from man-made and natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and/or outbreaks of infectious disease. For more information, please contact the MRC Coordinator at mrc@loraincountyhealth.com or visit the Lorain County MRC website at www.mrc.loraincountyhealth.com.
