The MRC in Ottawa County is a collaboration of the County Health Department, Magruder Hospital, Emergency Management Agency, United Way, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Ottawa County Transportation Agency, Ottawa County Dept. of Job & Family Services, The Ability Center, Mental Health and Recovery Board, County Commissioners, other elected officials including municipal and township office holders, County Sheriff, Police Chiefs, EMS and Fire Departments, local media and United Way's Volunteer Center desiring to enroll, train and credential citizen volunteers willing to respond to emergency events in our community. This group builds on historic success in responding to natural disasters and in preparing for any enventuality at the nearby nuclear power station. In addition, many members of this collaboration are playing a role in pandemic flu preparation.
