Profile:
We are housed out of the Torrington Area Health District, which serves eighteen cities and towns within Litchfield County, Connecticut. We are also working closely with the Burrville Fire Academy of Torrington, Connecticut as a resource for training space and volunteer recruitment.

Recent Activities:
8/18/2010
Community Preparedness Symposium. Members of the Community, and hopefully potential volunteers will be invited to participate in the symposium, scheduled to take place at Northwestern Community College in Winsted, Ct.

7/14/2010
Personal Preparedness Train-the-trainer. A member of the Yale Center for Preparedness staff will train 4 members of TAHD MRC and 5 members of the Pomperaug MRC in our first joint training with the new Pomperaug unit.

Trained thirty-five school employees in CPR and First Aid

5/23/2010
HAZMAT Drill-MRC Members worked with members of the Fire Auxillary and provided Firefighter rehab support during a multi-jurisdictional HAZMAT exercise. The event provided area fire chiefs with valuable information about how much time firefighters remain in rehab, as well as the practical benefits of NFPA1584 recommendations.
