Profile:
The Monroe County Health Department established the county Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) in 2006 to enhance the emergency prepardness for Monroe County residents. The goal of MRC is to prepare local medical and non-medical volunteers to respond to disasters and to support the existing medical response infrastructure. Recruiting and training volunteers is vitally important since Monroe County does not have a hospital or urgent care facility. Recruitment is ongoing, along with educating our residents to be prepared for any type of emergency by providing prepardness training and resource information.
