USA Freedom Corps today released the following statement from Desiree T. Sayle, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps:

"The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) has announced that it is successfully standing up its 500th active unit of skilled medical volunteers. MRC was created in 2002 in order to augment public health and medical disaster response in local communities. USA Freedom Corps praises MRC for this tremendous accomplishment. This milestone marks not only our nation's dedication to preparedness, but the greatness in spirit of its volunteers."
