 Home > Regional MRC Coordinators > Gail N. NewellRegion VIII MRC Regional CoordinatorGail N. Newell serves as MRC Regional Coordinator (MRC RC) for Region VIII (CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, WY). She provides technical assistance and support to the existing MRC units in the region and helps people interested in the MRC program to start a unit when there is not currently an active MRC in their local community. Ms. Newell works closely with individual units to advance the U.S. Surgeon General's public health priorities and coordinate with the goals of the Office of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps.
Prior to becoming MRC RC, Ms. Newell worked in the medical field as a Registered Vascular Technologist and as a Program Manager in the public health arena. She recently spent several years with the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Information Service as an Information Specialist and Partnership Program Coordinator. Ms. Newell graduated from Regis University with a bachelor's of science in Business Administration, with honors, and has started courses towards an M.B.A. She lives with her husband in Monument, Colorado along with two horses, three dogs, and two cats.
