Lan Anh Nguyen, M.S.

As the Program Coordinator for Deployment, Lan Nguyen focuses on a variety of deployment issues, including: developing tools to evaluate effectiveness of training and deployment policies, researching issues related to deployment of civilian volunteers, and assisting with generating policies and standard operating procedures.

Ms. Nguyen’s primary interest is studying the cooperation of local MRC units and their ability to respond to public health issues. Previously, she worked as an epidemiologist for the Virginia Department of Health. She also served as Director of the Rappahannock Medical Reserve Corps. In September 2009, she participated in training for the federal deployment of MRC members with the Office of Force Readiness and Deployment at Fort AP Hill, VA.

Lan Nguyen is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Sciences with a MS in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases. She also holds a BS in Biology from Cornell University.

In her free time, she enjoys skiing, yoga, and triathlons.
