She is responsible for helping to coordinate programmatic and operational activities in support of Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) units nationwide. She is a strong advocate for building bridges between tribal governments and local MRC units.

LTJG Hager has been a U.S. Public Health Service officer since 2006, and has previously completed tours of duty with the Indian Health Service. Katie comes to the Medical Reserve Corps from Fort Defiance Indian Hospital on the Navajo Nation where she served as an emergency department nurse.

While in high school, she began her emergency service career as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. She pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Services both clinical para-medicine as well as emergency management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She then went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. Currently, she is working toward her Master's Degree in Emergency Management from UMBC.

She greatly enjoyed this work and is excited to be working once again for the MRC program.
